Dr Tarique Al Musa

MBBS, MD, MRCP

Consultant Cardiologist

Dr Tarique Al Musa is a Consultant Cardiologist with extensive expertise in general adult cardiology. He is the current Clinical Director of Cardiology at Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. He has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of heart failure for which he is Clinical Lead also.

Tarique graduated with clinical distinction from the Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital School of Medicine, London. He undertook cardiology speciality training in South West London. Tarique completed his PhD from the University of Leeds with research funded by the British Heart Foundation and published a number of first-author primary research papers including in Circulation. He gained Level III accreditation in cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging from the European Society of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. Tarique has also completed a fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, winning an international competition at the European Society of Cardiology Heart Failure Congress and passing the ESC HFA heart failure certification exam.

Tarique holds Certified Cardiac Device Specialist recognition from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, and performs both simple and complex pacing (ICD, CRT) for advanced heart failure.
