We recognise that there there are many valve and heart muscle conditions such as Aortic and Mitral valve disease that can cause no symptoms or ECG changes for many years. Heart Screen + Silver is aimed at picking these up as well by combining Heartscreen+ Bronze with a detailed heart assessment using ultrasound or Screening Echocardiography.

Want to know more details?
All of our Heartscreens involve a patient questionnaire, nurse assessment, a blood test and 12 lead ECG.
All are reported by an experienced Consultant Cardiologist so we feel that our Healthscreen patient benefit from having an expert eye look over their data and individual 'situation' without the need for potentially costly consultation.
Our Heartscreen plus Consultant report (hence Heartscreen+) will therefore help detect cardiovascular problems that may not necessarily be causing major symptoms .
What does Heartscreen+ Silver entail?
Once you have scheduled the appointment by either calling us, or booking direct (see below) you will be sent details on when and where it will take place.
On arrival at our test centre you will need to complete our Registration form and Patient Questionnaire (unless already done). You will be asked whether your wish to have any extra blood tests done such as a Prostate screen (PSA), Vit D level, Thyroid check, or HbA1c/ Blood Sugar testing for Diabetes (these would cost extra).
You will be shown into the ECG room and the Cardiac Nurse will take down your details and measure your Blood Pressure as well as take blood from a vein in your arm.
You will then be asked to remove any clothing over your chest and electrodes connected to your chest.
The ECG will be acquired over a few minutes and forwarded electronically to the reporting Consultant Cardiologist who will issue a report. You can ask to have the print out of the ECG and report in due course either by email or post.
You will then move into our Echocardiography room- either the same day or on a different day where you will have the detailed ultrasound examintion by a trained echocardiographer.
All the results will be reviwed before issue of a report by the Cardiologist
What can Silver miss?
The resting ECG and Echocardiogram can often be completely normal in patients who have severe obstructive coronary artery disease, changing only after a heart attack or damage has occured. In addition the resting ECG and Echocardiogram may be normal in patients with early hypertension or prone to intermittent arrhythmia, so our Heart screen+ Silver can miss conditions only detected by more sophisticated testing such as those used in Gold and Platinum Healthscreen+ .
As shown in the table below Heartscreen+ ranges from our starter Bronze right up to a sophisticated Heartscreen+ Platinum offering state of the art Calcium scoring used to detect coronary heart disease years before symptoms develop.
