Dr Michael Hickman
He is a cardiologist who manages all aspects of adult cardiovascular disease however he maintains a special clinical and research interest in complex cardiac diagnostic imaging and complex cardiac pacing for heart rhythm disturbances.
Michael Hickman graduated from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School and undertook his subsequent training in General Medicine and Cardiology at a variety of hospitals in London. In addition to his degrees in Medicine and Psychology he spent over 2 years undertaking a postgraduate research degree, which culminated in him being awarded an MD doctorate.
Dr Hickman has published many peer reviewed scientific papers in highly regarded cardiology journals and has been a regular speaker at national and international scientific meetings. Prior to taking up his position as a consultant cardiologist Dr Hickman spent three years as a Senior Registrar at St. George’s Hospital, London where he gained further extensive experience in all aspects of cardiology.
Dr Hickman’s NHS practice is shared between The Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford and St. George’s Hospital.
His private practice is based at Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford however he also has practicing privileges at variety of private hospitals and clinics within London and Surrey, including Surrey Cardiovascular Clinic where he also performs Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms on a weekly basis.
